Private Lesson Structure

We would like to share some important information about private lessons and how they are structured. Private lessons are most effective when focused on one or two skills at a time, rather than trying to cover a wide range of skills in a single session.

It is also important to understand that athletes need to develop a strong foundation in beginner skills before progressing to more advanced tumbling. If a child has not yet been formally taught tumbling, they will first need to master beginner-level skills before moving on. For example, an athlete cannot safely work on skills like a back handspring until they have strong handstands, cartwheels, and roundoffs.

Skill Progressions:

Tumbling Level 1: Handstand, Cartwheel, Roundoffl
Tumbling Level 2: Back Handspring, Front Handspring
Tumbling Level 3: Back Tuck/Flip, Front Tuck/Flip

Students must be able to perform the listed skills in each level before progressing to the next. This structured approach helps athletes build confidence, prevent injury, and achieve long-term success.

Students must be able to perform the previous skills in order to work on these skills.

We often receive requests for private lessons, and we want to remind you how the process works. When a request comes in, our office staff posts it for our coaching team. Please note that our office does not assign private lessons. Coaches review these postings when they have free time in their schedules. If a coach has availability that matches your request, they will reach out to you directly to arrange the lesson.
