Recreational Gymnastics Classes for Every Skill Level

Whether your child is stepping into the gym for the first time or ready to build on existing skills, EGA offers structured, safe, and supportive recreational programs designed to help athletes grow with confidence — while keeping gymnastics fun.

EGA offers progressive recreational gymnastics programs for children ages 6 and up, designed to build strength, coordination, proper technique, and confidence. Each class level follows a structured curriculum with clear skill progressions, ensuring athletes develop safely and at a pace that fits their individual growth.

Below is an overview of our Recreational Gymnastics class levels.
Class schedules and availability are viewed and managed through our Parent Portal.

Beginner Recreational Gymnastics

Ages: Typically 6+

Our Beginner Recreational Gymnastics classes introduce athletes to foundational gymnastics skills in a positive and encouraging environment. Students learn proper technique across all Olympic events for both girls and boys while developing strength, balance, coordination, and overall body awareness.

This level is perfect for children who are new to gymnastics or still building confidence with basic skills.

Advanced Beginner Recreational Gymnastics

Ages: Typically 7+ or by coach recommendation

Advanced Beginner classes are for athletes who are ready to move beyond the basics and continue building on their foundation. In this level, gymnasts work on sharpening technique, increasing consistency, and improving overall strength and flexibility while being introduced to more advanced movements and combinations. The focus is on steady progression, greater body control, and growing confidence across the Olympic events for both girls and boys.

Placement may be recommended by a coach to ensure the best fit for each athlete.

Intermediate Recreational Gymnastics

Ages: Typically 8+ or by coach recommendation

Intermediate Recreational Gymnastics is designed for athletes who show strong body awareness, confidence, and consistency in their foundational training. At this level, gymnasts continue progressing toward more advanced skills while refining technique and improving strength, flexibility, and control. Classes emphasize safe, structured advancement and polished performance across the Olympic events for both girls and boys.

This level helps prepare athletes for higher-level recreational instruction or future program pathways.

Looking for Tumbling?

Tumbling is one of the most common skills parents ask about — and an important focus for many athletes.

At EGA, tumbling is incorporated into all of our gymnastics classes as part of well-rounded training. However, we also offer dedicated Tumbling-only classes for athletes who want additional focus in that area. Our Tumbling program provides the structure, specialized equipment, and targeted instruction needed for safe, effective skill development while continuing to build strong fundamentals.
